New Gundam series next October!… Apparently.

Fresh from the rumour mill. According to Moon Phase Zakki sources, a new Gundam series will start airing October next year. Many valorous spies paid the ultimate sacrifice to bring us this information.

Stellar~~~

New Gundam series, starts airing October next year!… Apparently.
Taking over the time slot of Ayakashi Ayashi, a new Gundam series will air during the Saturday 6pm slot next year. The director will be Seiji Mizushima. Although this is, technically, an internal leak, it is not confirmed whether the project is really proceeding as stated.

You can just feel the journalistic confidence oozing out of this little article… On another note, Seiji Mizushima is most well-known as the director of Full Metal Alchemist.

Unlike most people, I still have hopes for the SEED franchise, especially if a new director is being brought in to continue the series. While it is not certain if the new Gundam series will continue the C.E. timeline, or indeed whether it even exists at this moment, I have this to say: BRING STELLAR BACK!!!

P.S. Moon Phase has also confirmed, with information from Comiket 70, that the third Nanoha series will be a full-fledged TV series and not OVAs. I don’t care for Nanoha, but it’s on the same page as this news so might as well….

Wow, this had been going on like, for, half a year?

Anyway, I’m not certain myself if this new Gundam series itself, is really a follow up of Gundam SEED or Gundam Wing itself. But I feel, since it is a “series”, it’s DEFINITELY a new Gundam series outside of all the other series.

My reason for SEED not being a good guess: a movie had just been announced but still under production, which will end the entire series as a trilogy.

As for Wing, I’ve got nothing to say, as I do not watch the series at all. To be frank, I only notice Gundam SEED in 2004. :(

  2. CushionRide says:

I have watched my share of Gundam as of late, unfortunately ive read about all of the series since i was 18, now im 31 and im finally seeing some of the older stuff lol

as for seed, it started really strong, good storyline, excellent animations, and action. great charachter developement.

Destiny tried to hard i think, there’s alot of similar plots as Seed. it does have its twists of coarse.

as for Stargazer, im not sure i understood that series. the only thing i can figure out is that they are developing a new gundam with AI and a new propultion system. im still trying to figure out if the ship is the third episode is the Girty Lu or just a close copy of it. also im not sure i understand how or the relationship between Sven and the Girl in the end of the movie….. or whats even going on with them together in the stargazer :P my copy of the last episode wasnt of very good quality :P

still i think it would have been better if they took the time to develope the story a little more :P

and as for Gundam wing? that was an ok series, endless waltz was cool, i still think i like seed & Destiny better ^_^

  3. beertax says:

If there is a new gundam series, I hope they make one about an older Camiou Bidan from Zeta Gundam. I always felt bad that he ended up the way he did, and from analyzing the UC series he was potentially the most powerful of the newtypes from the UC era (maybe next to Sirocco… Char and Amurou were honestly not as strong as Camiou). I just am sick of seeing Gundam series after series with 15 year old teenage boys who still don’t have hair ‘down there’ as the main lead. An older male lead, a war veteran with a dark past, could make for a far more compelling lead IMHO. Judou from ZZ is another candidate, but I think many of us will agree that Camiou was a far more developed and interesting character than the plastic Judou.

ps: SEED and SEED DESTINY spawned some very beautiful gundam designs (Astray Red, Zaku Warrior, Providence, Buster Verde and Strike Noir imho) but it had a terrible story and characters with eyes too large for even the anime genre. I hope the folks at Bandai let it to rest and please for lord’s sakes let’s go back to the established and respected territory of UC.

  4. Athrun Zala says:

SEED and SEED Destiny do not suck. The fighting scenes i think are way better than other Gundam series. However, the flaw that i found in their series is that there are too many pointless battles that took place. The ending of SEED Destiny also produced confusion on the relationship between Athrun,Cagalli and Meryn.

  5. MauriceP says:

SEED and DESTINY are alright but they will always be in the UC’s shadow. As for the gundam series coming out in october, it’ll most likely be SEED. If it is,these are my simple reqest:

1: A powerfull unpredictible new storyline. Seed and Destiny were way too simalair. As for the plot, instead of another pointless war. let’s make ot one big terrorist plot after another, that leads up to the grand finale.

2: A kick-ass protangonist (of coarse) As cool headed as Kira and Athrun but as badass as Shinn, Canard Pars, Spike Speigel(Cowboy Bebop) and Johnny Knoxville (don’t ask.)

3: A Black Gundam, since most the hero’s gundam are mainly white. Let’s have a black one for the hell of it.

4: Focus more on the new characters. In Destiny they made almost all the new characters the bad guys.

5: There’ve been rumors saying that Lacus and or Kira were gonna die, I’m kinda hoping that’s true because they make it look like the world revolves around them just because Kira’s the ultimate coordinator and Lacus’ the pink princess or whatever. I think that’s just stupid and unfair. Beside with Lacus dead it could start a spark in the series that so desprately needs one after Destiny. And we’ll a killing side of Kira (I would pay money to see that).

These are my hopes for the seed series ya’ll can flame me all you want but my opinion will still stand. I never was a Lacus fan. infact I never was a fan of pink haired anime girls ( epxect Lucy from Elfen Lied)

  6. Zyrael says:

    TO Athrun Zala

The fighting scenes in SEED don’t suck, but the ones in Destiny… I don’t think so… hate to it, but most of the fighting scenes there were “recycled” from other episodes of Destiny and from the former series (most especially the “2 mobile suits engaging in a 1on1 firing combat while circling each other then one breaks off then is followed by the other” scenario… it came from SEED, I think it first appeared when Kira and Athrun first engaged in combat, they were shooting each other but intentionally missing)

    ————————————————————————————-

    TO MauriceP

Please don’t say SEED and Destiny are just shadows of UC. The fact that UC was the first era in which mobile suits appeared, would make other series, other than the ones in the Cosmic Era, mere shadows of UC too… It would be an insult not just to CE, but also other previous series and all other series that might appear in the future… If people would always compare each and every Gundam series that were released and to be released to the UC Gundam series, then what’s the point of ever making a new set of series anyways? Every series was unique in one way or another and the only similarities were the existence of mobile suits called Gundams, a war in which these mobile suits fought in, pilots who piloted the Gundams, and people who wanted to end the war in the most civilized humane way as possible.

True that there would be similarities in terms of story and probably characters and mobile suits, but that’s only because they’re all living in different universes, aka the Gundam Multiverse… If you’ve seen the movie ‘The One’ by Jet Li, then perhaps the existence of Gundams in different universes with similarities in terms of story, characters, mobile suit design and technology would be clearer to you people… ^_^

Oh and BTW… I don’t know if some of you people actually do it intentionally, but the correct way to write ‘of course’ is “of course”, not ‘of coarse’… it kinda bugs me, but not in a bad way…

  7. Zyrael says:

    TO beertax

Going back to UC, and having gundams as mobile suits again is kinda illogical now. If I remember it right, they ended the era of mobile suits and Gundams there. And there is this manga about UC that happened about 100+ years later after the first Gundam… if the first Gundam happened at about UC 79, and if my memory is correct about that manga happening at about UC 193 or something, then it would have been 114 years into the future after the first gundam. They were using new types of mechas there, and their design is way too far from the the designs of previous UC series… and I don’t think they call the mechas there as mobile suit anymore… also, there’s something new there about Newtypes, I think they no longer exist there cause if they do, then they would need a reason to clone Char there… (I forgot who they are but they needed the leadership of a great leader, like Char who was already a legend at that point)

They cloned Char there but he was given a new name, and I don’t think the clone has any memories of the previous Char… I don’t know…

I’m not really sure about the details but I’m positively sure that this manga existed… try searching for it in the net, I forgot where I found it cause it was so long ago.

  8. darkdestiny says:

Perhaps Stargazer was very short. But looking from its perspective, perhaps it’s nothing more than looking from the view of a Natural. But I have the feeling that Sven will come back in the movie. Just like how one of the Astray characters re-appear in the GSD Final Plus and GSD Special Edition (I don’t know the name though).

Regarding the fighting scenes, I’d say, some are a “rip-off” from SEED. That I agree. Most of Infinite Justice’s moves are exactly the same as Justice (being an “upgrade” of the latter), and even the move of Akatsuki taking out it’s double-sided laser sword is partially the same as the earlier 2 I mentioned. But there’s of course, new ones that they’d created so far. Old moves are recreated maybe because of the battle style of the player, or perhaps something else.

Since a new series is kicking off this October, including a Gundam SEED movie, we can just wait patiently for them both, particularly the former. Regardless or not whether it is an original story or a follow-up of an older series, or whether it is good or bad, I will still look forward to it.

  9. Razackiller says:

Hmm… dont complaint.. they were produce it… then let them…
if you think that your idea is too good …. then make it your self…
Just wait for the next gundam series and watch it….

  10. WING=BEST!! says:

Ok i likes Wing and Seed How ever what really got me upset about destiny was the the stupid main char of the second one. If this new series have new chars i can watch but if it’s going to have that dude ( Don;t know his name casue never really watch destiny and to lazy to look it up) in the new seriese this coming fall i can’t stand for it. Other wise Ill watch it. And, Romance is ok good, but sometimes it get’s carried away. I admit that Wing did not have to much of romance and that what i thought didn’t bring it out as well. But To much romance just dosn;t make Gundam. I like to watch Gundam which the main char is not (can’t swere, impolite) so poop head and thinks he all that. HIs attitude and the way he blames people it just Stupid all i can say.

  11. Aki says:

Ya I found Gundam SEED and Gundam WING to be very simillar. Personally I like Gundam SEED better, mostly because the characters are a little more realistic and there’s no Relena. Relena and Heero were kinda… odd together ad the ending sucked in Gundam Wing. The movie, Endless Waltz wasn’t overly exciting ether. Gundam SEED however, the ending was… better… I mean heck, if you think about it, why do people like Gundam SEED and not WING, or the other way around. They’re clones of eachother.

GSD was an annoyance too. It was ALOT like the prequel, Gundam SEED, new gundams, they get stolen, I mean come on, it wasn’t that great. Although, the whole quote from Dearka in ep 36 or somthing was great. “One of these days your head will explode, Ya know.” That was great….

I’m not old enough to have watched any other Gundam serises… so I’m sure you guys know more that I do about this kinda stuff. XD

What’s the new serises called anyways? Is it a clone of GS or GW?! o.o That would suck… -_-”

  12. Swordsman of seals says:

Yo, you guys talking about the bad sides of WING and SEED, let me get into this.

1st off : Gundam Wing seems unrealistic, true, but at least it’s got a good politics-story. I personaly love the way this series is, as a whole. I hate Trowa, Wu-Fei, Quatre, and almost hate Duo. But I like to see Heero on the action, he’s really cold-hearted. Somebody said he thinks he’s the best, I doubt that can be said.

Also I like the way this series views the usage of A.I. with the Dolls, Epyon and Zero system. Even though it’s kinda weird.

2nd off : Gundam SEED seems good, it’s a BIT more realistic, but sometimes a little boring. Got a “good” politics-story too, but not as close as the Wing one. I also like the way it’s not MAIN CENTRED on Kira, Athrun plays this part too. The graphics are really good too.

3rd off : Gundam SEED Destiny. The little baby around. For the first 20 episodes I was almost sleeping, they WERE BORING. But things started to heat up and I ended up liking the serie. Kinda weird to change main character, but this may lead us to a new style of stories. I think it was a good one, at least experimental.

What I didn’t like was the way Athrun was such a noob for the whole series, he wasn’t playing the GUNDAM pilot after all, just some peacemaker with a machine.
Graphics were even better than SEED’s, dno why, I liked’em better. Maybe codec quality but w.e.

    For me:

Wing > SEED > SEED Destiny

I wish there was a MEGAMAN X anime series :(

  13. darkdestiny says:

There’s a Megaman anime series somewhere. But in another name.

  14. ALL THOSE WHO MADE A POST THAT IS NEGATIVE IN RESPECT TO THE GUNDAM SEED AND SEED DESTINY SERIES PLEASE READ THIS says:

After reading every post on this site I have come to the conclusion that the majority of gundam fans were disapointed with the SEED DESTINY series. I can agree only in respect to the terrible ending the GUNDAM SEED DESTINY series was left with. For the most part I enjoyed this series much more than GUNDAM SEED, mostly because I enjoy the relations contained within the series. My favorite relationship is the Cagali-Athrun duo and I believe a new series must be made to repair their relationship because they left it completely unfinished betwen the two. Also the fact that at the end Cagali removed Athrun’s engagment ring and asked Meyrin to look after him, WTF. Anyway as I mentioned before I agree that the creators of the DESTINY series “should be forbidden” to ever work in the Gundam francize again because of the ending they left it with, and if a new series is coming out there are a few rules that the creators should follow:

1- No main characters must die (this includes KIRA, LACUS, ATHRUN, CAGALI, Meyrin, Shinn, Lunamaria, MWU, CAPTAIN RAMIUS, Yzak, Dearaka, and Mirilella-the girl who was kind of involved with Dearaka and also the girl friend of toille before he was killed by Athrun in GUNDAM SEED.)

2- Cagali and Arthrun must live happily ever after, TOGETHER.( a sugestion would be to have Athrun make the FIRST move and ask Cagali to put the engagment ring back on then have Meyrin meet Yzak to clear up that little love triangle)

3- New villians must be introduced, no more recycling old ones.(Ex. BLUE COSMOS MUST REMAIN DEAD and I think that the new enemy should be one where ZAFT and the Earth alliance must team up to defeat.)

4- More equalization in the battle scenes to the relationship scenes. There must be more LOVE.( overall DESTINY was better in this aspect, but it failed miserably in the significance of these scenes.)

5- No more crazy characters, Ex. in GUNDAM SEED there was Fllay(who I was HAPPY to see die) and Stellar in DESTINY( but honestly I really did cry when she died because I could not believe the pain Shinn went through in the scene where he put Stellar in the lake after she died. I AM SERIOUS WHEN I SAY I CRIED, AND I WHOLEHEARTEDLY ADMIT THAT IT IS QUITE PATHETIC FOR A 6 FOOT 4, 220 POUND 18 YEAR OLD MAN TO CRY WATCHING A CARTOON. And last but not least Meer from DESTINY( personally I glad she was shot)

6- More interesting twists in the very predicable plot. Just for the record I very accuratly perdicted what happened in each episode before it happen. The only mistake was in the last episode, but I don’t think any one was expecting then to leave it that wide open. The fact that they had to make a 51st episode is quite pathetic and on top of that it did not improve anything for the series. They created another 48-minute episode and only added maybe 10-minutes of most of the main charaters meeting at a battle memorial, HELLO WHERE IS CAGALI.

If the creators wouold just follow these rules a new Gundam Seed series would be a huge sucess, and they could even make up for that ending in DESTINY. But I must again say that I cannot understand why you people would not want another series, IT IS MANDATORY.

  15. razakiller says:

    hmm.. rulez no 3 ……there…
In THis comming episode… Lacus will lead the zaft… how come they can be villiant…?
so If you watch… GUDAM seed Stargazer… you know who the villiant later…
The one who drop Junius 7 on seed destiny…. the Zala faction
And The survivor of the Earth alliance … so… The villiant most imposible Zaft

  16. chubaka says:

I was not dissapointed with the story lines in Gundam Seed and Destiny… I thought it showed great meaning in the story. I really loved how in Seed they had Kira fight his old friend… and in Destiny how everyone was put back into war. That quote that Shinn states really gets to me… “No matter how beautiful the flowers bloom, people will blow them away once again…” and then in episode 51 Kira answers saying, “No matter how many times they are blown away, we will replant them once again.” Although some episodes in destiny were quite boring. I am also not satisfied with those crazy characters… they cause way too much commotion… their role is good but their personalities suck. As for the people who think that it is unrealistic… i must say that a lot of it is in fact realistic… First of all, it takes place in the future… so scientist have A LOT of time to come up with new ways to destroy society with war… Also, the reason Gundams can destroy many units easily is because they are Coordinators… they genetically engineered to enhance human potential… and with the discover of transgenetics or what ever its called… i think that this is very possible in the future… we will eventually find a way to have a baby with specific features and genes. I personally wouldn’t mind another Seed episode… though they should really fix up the relationships… Athrun and Cagalli, Kira and Lacus, and Shinn and Luna… they kind of just left it unfinished… and if not for episode 51, i wouldve been very disappointed with the ending because they completely left it blank… at least in episode 51 they all finally found the reason that they all fight… leaving that question answered.

  17. Fusionigx says:

as to reply to what the guy with the longa$$ name said i didnt feel sorry when stellar died she was a really messed up character even when u compare them to the druggies from Seed and destiny and what i found very funny and unbelievable was that her body was in one piece after that big MS or MA was destroyed
anyways i found the Destiny battle scenes lacking many recycles way too much
and of course the ending was lacking however it gave me the sense that “theres no way this is the end of seed for better or for worse there will be another one”
and i also dont get y kira was wearing a zaft commanders uniform can someone explain?
i also feel sorry Andrew in the end he the only one alone
another thing u can see kiras mom in the beginning at least i think that was her where his dad i think they showed both in Seed if hes out of the pic then maybe she and andrew hook up? just a stupid though but who knows :)

  18. razakiller says:

kira wearing zaft uniform because… lacus….
Lacus is the chairman for zaft now…
and Kira love lacus +lacus love kira…
    thats why… hahahaha

  19. shawn says:

They should bring back the original Gundam series

  20. darkdestiny says:

About Kira wearing a ZAFT uniform at the Special Edition, I believe he just wanted to join Lacus as she returned to PLANTs.

But I feel, a movie will come up soon on Gundam SEED to end it all. Some queries, I hope, will be answered then:

    – Is Lacus the Chairman of ZAFT? (unknown, though many said she is)
    – Who will Athrun end up with? Cagalli or Meyrin (latter unknown if she’ll return in the movie)
    – Is Stellar coming back in person? (rumoured that she’ll be in flashback events instead)
    – Where is the deceased Talia Gladys’ son? (certainly NOT Rey at all)

It would be excellent if Gundam SEED Movie turns 3D. Or perhaps the new Gundam series in October.

  21. djdjdjd says:

does anyone know with this gundam seed movie is coming out? They definately have to have some sort of continuation cause there are many questions to be answered… theyre just basically saying there’s going to be some sort of continuation…

  22. darkdestiny says:

To answer your question, djdjdjd, there is a rumoured short trailer stated in Wikipedia.org that exist to tell about this continuation. But no one I’ve inquired knows of its existence online.

  23. D@rk Wiz SUJI says:

hmmmm….. october hu? many fanatic will crave 2 c a sneek pick of this new series of the gundam saga……. hehehehehehehe gundam rock!!!!!

  24. true says:

true nd if thee is a movie i could care less if any one doesnot like what i am going to say. There need o be a gundam sriers that pushes the boundries of eisodes….

If this movie come out there is a chance it will be re-cap material. and if its nt i am happy.

enen afte the movie i am expectig there to be a new seriesafter it want to know why?

A movie is 2.5 hrs long. right?

Well after that a 3rd series be released. Whether it is the end or the end be all of the CE Era for now. I do not care as long as it’s made. Then One final movie to end it all.

Now why would i want a new season, it is freaking impossible not to make it. so much not answered.

Then do not forget. ff series never name series sequals but after ff the way it ended in ffX i knew there was going to be a new one and there was.

Now that all there is to it.

A movie for seed universe is not eough for me. I need a series that will last longer than 2.5 hrs. the series of course which can be new will last for a year and a half depending on the size of it and since its te thid id maake it longer than 50 episodes. it can span 1-3 years for all i care and at the same time a new gundam series or the others can still be in the works period. then the new gundam seed movie after the series and more to come if warranted.

the point is i see 1 more season of GS and 2+ movies. do not like it, my opinon.

  25. Zyrael says:

Still up to this point in time, I still haven’t found any solid facts about the new series or the movie. If they’re gonna be showing a movie to end all of CE up, then I hope it wouldn’t be like CCA where in the end Amuro died in saving the planent. I’m expecting a happy ending similar to Gundam X where they all lived peacefully after the war.

    FACTS:

    – Lacus is now the new chairwoman of ZAFT.
    – Kira did join ZAFT and is now a white coat, similar to Yzak. His rank is higher than Shin, Luna, and Dearka.
    – most elements of SEED are far closer to reality than any other gundam series out there (some examples: Coordinators and PS Armor[try Wiki for this one])
    – G’s MF control system (the motion control system to operate the MS) is closer to reality compared to any other MS control system in other gundam series
    – V2 doesn’t have the power to accelerate it near to the speed of light, in fact it’s slower than an F-14 (Don’t believe me? Use physics and calculate the amount of force required to accelerate an object as heavy as V2 to light speed and compare it to it’s given specifications)
    – There are no gundam series to date that confirms extraterrestrial life exist except for SEED.
    – No gundam series has ever have encounters with extraterrestrial beings invading the planet.

  26. Zyrael says:

    WHAT IF???

Ok, something crazy just came to my head…
Someone mention FMA + Gundam, what if…

Air + Gundam… I’m wonderin how would that turn out?

  27. Razordan says:

most of u say dat wing sukz. but if it suckz so much why do u dumbasses talk about it so much? personally i think that there should be another wing series cuz most people agree dat its da best!!!

  28. Razordan says:

and sum1 with brains (wing fans) tell me when is Gundam Wing: Battlemaster comin out?

  29. Razakiller says:

erm so seed fan +wing fan = half brain….
We all got own opinion…. many people have own intrest…
so you cant tell that People with brain are WIng fan…
how about Pro. of universiti dont have brain? frankstein dont have brain?

  30. Razakiller says:

and and Wing fan is Boy-man
but Seed Fan is Boys-Girls-man-woman-and etc

  31. WING=nobrain says:

Wing has no science no theory, it’s just blast them all.
Seed + seed destiny sounded like it had science but really it couldn’t back anything up.
UC = lots of science, evolution of humans and science and technology. it adapts current technology and science to a new level and is a visualization of the future.

UC, gundam 0079: 3 screen cockpit, heavy armor, experiment of beam rifle, beam saber and e-caps, minovsky craft,

gundam 0080 – 0087: experiment 360 panoramic cockpit, experimenting minimization of bit onto Mobile suit, I-field experimentation

0087-0093: mass produciton of 360 panaramic screen and boi-sensor, movable frame, reduce armor for agility, incom experimentation, Alice experimentation, introduction of dummies, beam smart gun

0093: pshyco frame technology, funnel, arm raker technology

0123: bio-computer experimentation, VSBR, minimization of size, beam shield introduction

0153: minovsky drive able to accelerate fast and create mivosky particle plasma blades = wings of light

these are all possible in near future, beam rifles, can be made with ucrrent technology though large equipemnts are needed.

u don’t see these technological evolution or back ground science in wing nor seed.. just powerfull godly gundams were magically created.

  32. darkdestiny says:

Looking at the title one more time, it says: New Gundam series next October. So apparently, is an all new series. My speculation is that Gundam series will take a dive into the virtual world, just like Rockman.EXE and Baldr Force EXE. But of course, it’s not really that true.

Yep, whatever Zyrael had said about GSD is most probably true. I too feel that the most shocking is about Kira joining ZAFT, instead of staying at ORB and stay in charge there. ORB is his real home anyway.

Anyway, Gundam SEED’s movie will JUST be like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. If the movie dives right into 3D, that would be fantastic.

  33. jinku says:

Is that new gundam will be other series (I mean not another gundam seed series.) There’s no specific gundam series that stating in the news. I hope you understand my english.

  34. razakiller says:

While it is not certain if the new Gundam series will continue the C.E. timeline, or indeed whether it even exists at this moment, I have this to say: BRING STELLAR BACK!!!
    —————————————————————————————
so this is what it say…..
    and i think it is a seed series….. XD…..
    another one….

  35. Providence says:

    Yes, i’ve waiting for this..!!
Seed and Destiny where realy great, so lets bring on the other series..
I’ve got almost everything of gundam, but nothing beats Seed and Destiny. But I respect all the series..so you most stop your bitching and show some more credit for this serie..!!!

  36. darkdestiny says:

razakiller, and to all those Stellar fans, I’m only a little certain that Stellar would return in the time of the new Gundam Seed movie, except in flashbacks or as a soul (like Fllay). The Gundam SEED series is looking into more of a kind of realistic situation of the world: war. It’s not like those fantasy series like Final Fantasy, where the dead can come back. The only 2 theories I can think of in which Stellar is not definitely dead.

Firstly, she merely lost (complete) consciousness after being taken out of the Destroy’s cockpit by Shinn. Someone may had happened to see Shinn placing Stellar into the near frozen lake. Of course, this is only about 1% possible, as unconscious people don’t immediately sink in the water; dead people sink in water, technically.

Secondly, Neo, or now known as Mwu la Fllaga, may have “switched people”. Now, is this really possible? How much time can Neo, at that time, be able to find a substitute that looks exactly like Stellar? I didn’t really mean “act” like Stellar or have the same memories as her, as this is likely with the technology the EAF had, as to be able to use Stellar’s memory to overwrite another “twin”. Again, is it possible? I’d give, again, 1% chance for that.

As a result, I don’t think it’s really possible for the real Stellar to step into the “cameras” of the movie. In fact, there’s a critically low chance for that. But to say that another girl who looks and acts like Stellar in many ways, it would be likely to get that.

Besides, should such a girl appear in front of Shinn’s eyes, it’ll most likely remind him of Stellar.

Sorry to disappoint you fans of Stellar, but I mean it. No use bringing the dead back in a much too realistic series.

  37. darkdestiny says:

Oh yes, one more note. I emphasize again: a new Gundam series would most likely mean something new, not a continuation of Gundam Wing, SEED, 0079 etc etc series. I’m very sure of that.

  38. Zyrael says:

    TO THE 81’st poster:

Ahem!! Pardon me but SEED not having a scientific background? That wouldn’t be true, cause if one would look closer, the factors that make SEED is possible in the near future.

Coordinators are nearing possibility. Genetic enhancements are being done in labs all around the world but only for animals and plants. There are few human test subjects already as far as I know. (EX: Tomato + fish genes = Tomato resistant to very cold weather::: Cold Resist + 60%)

SEED factor on the other hand is just an exaggerated and higher representation of what we call the ‘adrenaline rush’.

Also, the Phase shift technology was derived from the explosive reactive armor of tanks of today. Phase shift technology is also being developed today but it’s called electric reactive armor. Basically has the same principles as phase shift but not completely. Try searching in Wiki for this one, I read it there.

The emphasis of the OS used in mobile suits is also not really far fetched as it may seem.
Most military technology available today has it’s own computer and it’s own OS. These OS greatly affects the vehicle one is in; the pilot support OS they use on F-117 is one really good example. It was claimed that the F-117 won’t be able to fly due to it’s weird design, but due to it’s OS, it was able to and not only that, there was one incident in which the plane had some malfunction in one of it’s flight control part, (forgot what part was it, sorry), but due to it’s OS again, the computer made tremendous amount of adjustments making it appear to the pilot that nothing happened. A similar but advance OS is being used to fly the B-2.

The next step of stealth technology is stealth against light dependent vision. I don’t have much info on how true this is, but some say they’ve already began to crack the egg.

Neutron Jammers might be a possibility as Physics evolves overtime. If I remember it right, there is this lab somewhere in the US where they are experimenting on ANTI-MATTER. They were able to produce this small amount of anti-matter (a few milligrams I think) and is currently being hold in a vacuum container and floats in it while being hold electronic fields. If they are going to further expand their studies, they might actually make actual neutron jammers. Anti matter destroying free neutrons only. Who knows, they might actually have done it already. ***Now that I said this, I think there is already a name for anti-neutron particles and were theoretically believe to exist in space. Similar to what people use to think about Anti-matter, something only from science fiction, but it is now a reality.***

One reason why SEED doesn’t have that much scientific background is most likely because this is how real wars are. Development of most military-ware are done in secrets and mostly are not revealed up until war comes.

  39. Zyrael says:

I just hope that this time the main character wouldn’t actually have the usual main character trait that most Gundam shows have.

    What trait you say?

The ‘born to be a weapon’ trait.

Three pilots I know have this trait; Amuro, Heero and Kira.

One pilot I know doesn’t have this trait but still has an amazing gundam.
Garrod of X, he didn’t have the ‘born to be a weapon’ trait but has got the gundam to end all 3 powerful gundams, (Hi-Nu, Wing Zero and Strike-Freedom), in a single shot.

Add to that his really cute girlfriend, Tiffa Adil, who’s way better than Relena and Sayla Mass. On par only with Lacus. ^_^

Hope they make a remake of X one day.

  40. UCAWCEACFCCC says:

I have a few comments about “technology”.

First of all, I dont know about the manga, but in the animated series, none of the UC series really explains that much about the technology. I always hear people talk about the physics of UC as if it exists and they explained it butafter seeing every series two or more times they don’t. They might in the manga but I don’t know.

By the way, wikipedia is NOT a good source of information. ANYONE can change it to make it say what they want it to say.

When it comes down to it:
I would say Wing is the most likely in terms of technology. UC discovers some new miracle particle that does wonders, I’m taking a class in that area of physics right now and that isn’t very likely. SEED has some understandable technology. Wing is even more understandable. The only things we would need for Wing to come true are, very efficient fuel (they do mention that the gundams are run on fuel in the series), some new crazy metal (a whole lot more likely than a new physics centered around a new particle), and a lot of advancements in AI. SEED would need to replace the fuel with battery advancements and nuclear reactor advancements. It would also need to make the whole phase shift thing. Then there is coordinators, I can’t give a reliable source but DNA hasn’t actually been discovered. It’s just our best guess. If it had we would already have been seeing coordinators.

The whole beam saber thing though is way out of our league (we are more likely to make something comparible to Libra’s main gun or a colony laser than a beam saber, this coming from a physicist speaking about Star Wars, Star Trek, and other SciFi).

Gundam X, G Gundam, Turn A lack explanations of technology. Gundam X may be possible, not so sure about the whole moon beam charging it up though. G Gundam…that’s far far out there….I’m talking the advancement of the entire human race to do some of that crazy stuff. Turn A, probably the other likely series, except for the fact that technology is supposedly salvaged from all other series making it the least likely to be true.

  41. darkdestiny says:

I totally agree with Zyrael on post 88. Although I’m in envy with your military knowledge.

Yes, now that we will soon have the full advanced technology of genetic engineering, it’s most possible that Coordinators and other genetically manipulated humans. Of course, as explored in SEED series, Science do have some errors. Scarcely, Earth will enter another new era like the C.E. stage, from the A.D. years. That’s likely possible.

And who could have expect a girl like Lacus to have natural pink hair? Genetic manipulation does that job.

And as I noticed, Lacus’ hair from GS to GSD appeared longer, and the end of it looks tangled up or something…

  42. HeeroYuy041 says:

Hell No!!! Gundam Seed / Destiny is crap to the highest order. cus of many reasons
    1. It is a freakin rip off of the original Mobile Suit Gundam
    2. The characters are made to just look attractive / cute / hot and doesn’t add much to the damn story
    3. The characters are crying tears half the time
    4. Plot changes too quickly and gives away a lot of things at the beginning (of course the bad guys always lose and the good guys look cool “sighs”)
    5. Story doesn’t make any damn sense since those hourglasses in space are too freakin fragile and the sizes are all blown out of proportion
    6. SEED mode : what the heck is that = a sudden burst of energy for Newtypes?
    7. Bring back Stellar! R U kidding me that would make Gundam Seed fall deeper than the pits of hell, as cute and hot as she looks in that photo it would not bring any meaning back into the story since Final Plus was a good place to end the series.
    8. the list can go on and on…Yes i can go on and on about the crap that comes out of Gundam Seed / Destiny Email me if you want more details heeroyuy041@aol.com or im me if you have aim or hotmail

Bottom Line: It would be better to make a sequel to Gundam Wing since Endless Waltz left the viewers hangin and wanting more details.

More to comment after reading some more posts (Sorry for the inconvenience)
    1. the UC series is way lame if you look at the original MSG the RX-78-2 looks like a rectangle, ie. square moving parts and poor design.
    2. the 08th Ms team is likely the only Gundam show for the UC series that I actually support since they made an improvement on how realistic a battle can be.
    3. In the UC series the colors in the series are really dull if you look at them carefully compared to GW and GS/GSD.
    4. GS/GSD is more or less a modern developed version of the UC series. (Ie characters in UC lacked color, stylish finish, poorly drawn frames and designs
While on the other hand GS/GSD updated the UC series for a more modern audience, such as making the characters look insanely attractive, cute, hot, etc. If they were to continue any of the current gundam series around it would just cause more controversy)
    5. I highly doubt that everything in SEED is derived from GW. If you analyze the actions carefully SEED is actually a combination of GW and the UC series (So stop bashing Gundam Wing cus UC is also to blame)

While on the topic of realistic and possible technologies Gundam Seed is more like a 22nd century sort of thing. But Gundam Wing is more within our reach judging by our status quo on military projects. Intelligence indicates that they are possibly developing a MECH WARRIOR type suit in Russia (not enough details yet). However this new series might look better but it really depends on the story and how it turns out. Besides it’s been a while since a new gundam series was released so it probably won’t be as popular as it was when Gundam Wing was still around.

Side Note G-GUndam over saturated the whole gundam franchise, i mean how cheap can they get with it airing it twice on Toonami, Cartoon Network When they only aired GW and GS once. G-Gundam ruined the whole gundam franchise that was going on. Gundam Wing and the Original MSG set the gundam franchise in US at a steady pace.

    Basic Line up of explanations
Gundam Seed: Cute Looking Characters, Steady Plot growth made for modern audience (Yes Lacus and Athrun are drawn to look like super stars with big reputations. This applies to other characters as well)
Gundam Seed D. More Cute Characters, choppy plot, worthy ending (Again, yes Lunamaria and Kira are supposed to look “hot” for the modern audience to give them good ratings same applies to other characters)
Gundam Wing: the whole “bad boys” type of show, slow and concise plot allowing the viewers to fully understand the circumstances
G-Gundam: Crappy characters, gundams are more based on human strength and really hurts when your head is blown off (ouch)
Original MSG: started in 1979 (hence UC 0079), Mobile Suits look bland and put together by boxes and cardboard
08th MS team: more realism to the fact that gravity on earth makes battles harder to win than in other series.
Other UC Series: Poor animations bad colors and hard to understand full plot
Other Gundam Series: SDG Force was designed for 1yr olds who needed to learn english and that violence is bad,
No More comments on other series since they are all dull colored and mildly related to UC.

Yes I like Gundam Wing Better than Any gundm Series out on the market because i Believe that it is more plausible and easy to understand and grab the plot.

I for one wish they can put Canard Pars in the series. He would own the series.

  45. darkdestiny says:

Well, I refer to posts 93 and 94 of this discussion here.

My stand, as obvious, is still on Gundam SEED. Not because its about the only whole series I managed to catch.

If you look at the series of Gundam SEED, there’s a lot of focus on several aspects of life, other than the advanced technology they had in that series. If you’d noticed, a lot of politics were focused on the series alone. About the manipulation politics can do to make people trust them, all for the aim of a major catastrophe (in SEED, Coordinators conquering the world of humans; in Destiny, Destiny Plan). In fact, a lot more that a number of people I know just fear to notice.

One big aspect, I realized, is about the names of the Gundams themselves. For instance, compare the Freedom/Justice duo in SEED and in SEED Destiny. Perhaps you should check the dictionaries about the 2 words themselves. As noted, Freedom and Justice is certainly the best combination for peace in the world itself i.e., being able to do anything you want without offending or injuring anyone, and without doing any injustice that makes peace fragile. But, in SEED Destiny, Freedom Gundam is the only main mobile suit left used in fights (apart from Strike Rouge and the Murasames). It shows that freedom, without justice, led people to do whatever they want, even killing (which led Heine and Stellar to their deaths).

Impulse, too, has its own meanings as well. One big example is its pilot, Shinn, who always act on impulse, particularly in battles. In battles, he’s reckless at times, always doing what he feels is right at the moment. Just like how he destroyed a secret base that the EAF attempted to build on their allies’ land (can’t remember which episode). He even felt that he can fight against Gaia before then, ignoring Athrun’s command. Off battles, everything’s almost exactly the same, as his impulse led him to blurt out his anger towards ORB and Athha towards Cagalli, in a few of the earlier episodes of Destiny.

There’s a lot more about the names of the mobile suits, as well as the time in which they started operation. 2 examples I can give in which machines appear at the same time are:

    – Raider, Forbidden and Calamity
    – Chaos, Gaia and Abyss

Think about it. What’s the underlying meanings of their 3-at-once appearances in the entire series?

Of course, the directors/writers themselves didn’t create the plot for Gundam SEED series just because of cute people and others you guys had said. There are, of course, underlying meanings about many things, like politics, war, and even a bit of life (fate, for instance). (I’ve heard, though, Naruto had beaten the entire series of MS Gundams in terms of underlying meanings about life :P

And, talking about “cute” people. I do not know what to say about that, but I feel that such things are used to attract people to watch the shows. Who wants to watch shows that have a boring plot and characters with uninteresting looks? Come on man, this is the market of media.

But regarding the different species of people, Coordinators are shown throughout the series to have better looks as compared to Naturals. Let me this emphasize again: these looks are due to genetic engineering, the manipulation of Coordinators genes to make them look better. Who would have thought that some Coordinators, for instance, Lacus, Athrun and the Meyrin sisters, would have natural pink, blue and red hair?

And of course, the problems of genetic engineering are explored too. Parents did not get the looks of what they want their kids to look like, and the ethnic problems also surface, opposing genetic manipulation. At a highest level explored in genetic engineering, the Destiny Plan, which is about the manipulation of unborn babies to make them specialize in a particular area like, say music. This is considered the “sealing of future generations’ destiny”.

Looking in terms of technology, other than Genetic engineering, there are a lot of things that are really possible. Military, for instance, can achieve a level like that in Gundam SEED, or perhaps, higher than that. Lasers, Phase Shift, Mirage Colloid… everything is possible. There’s no such thing as “the technology in Gundam SEED is fictional and all crap”. Yes, all this can be possible. Who knows, in the near future, they’ll be such things as mobile suits and DRAGOON systems, and more!

Finally, I emphasize that, again, it is TECHNICALLY impossible that Stellar will come back in person. It’d rather be her soul, or someone who looks like her, that will fit as an alternative. Again, Gundam SEED is not a fantasy series, so resurrection IS impossible.

Took quite a while to type this, and I don’t know if I did type any rubbish in what I said in the above. But I just would like to say, there’s a lot more things that are explored in the SEED series that a couple of people fail to discover. Whether its politics, technology or many more, there’s always plenty underlying meanings in the entire series.

  46. darkdestiny says:

I understand that my previous post is very long. But I’m just telling some people about the meanings that I can see from the literature point of view. Of course, it may be wrong, but at least I hope that more people can be able to realize the meanings behind parts of the series, no matter how small.

Of course, one with a very professional literature skills can identify the meanings. I ain’t a really good literature student though :(

As many should realize, certain series nowadays are strong in the literature aspect.

  47. UCAWCEACFCCC says:

Finally someone else mentions the fact that most of the SEED people that are “good looking” are because they are Coordinators. It only makes sense that they would be.

    Anyways,

    @ HeeroYuy041:

Gundam Wing is my favorite too but there’s no need to bash on other series. They all have their strong points and weak points.

That being said, to other people out there: please don’t bash any Gundam series. Anything that you can find wrong in a series can be found worse in another series if you look at things from a slightly different perspective. Even if you can’t do this there will always be some things that make a series the worst one depending on how you look at them. Keep an open mind, look at all of the series as a whole and each one seperately. The only exception to this would maybe (emphasis on maybe) be SD Gundam. But again, it all depends on how you look at it.

    @darkdestiny

You have some points but many of them are paralleled in GUndam Wing. Especially an in depth look into politics. I won’t go into details because Wing is full of politics. Gundam Wing also had some meaningfull naming as well. In some language or other Heero=one, Duo=two, Trowa=three, Quatre=four, Wufei=five. They may not be direct meanings of each other but each of the name’s meanings at least imply something. Then there is the naming of mobile suits after constellations. What any of this has to do with anything, I don’t know, that would be some really in depth analysis that would need a lot of extra research.

On a more general note: I’m not sure where, it may have been here or it may have been on an IGN post, someone said something along the lines of “dead is dead in the Gundam universe, unless you are Char”
Anyone agree that that is very wrong. Some series make it apparent that the person really survived others keep the audience in suspense. Look at how many people “died” and the series let us believe they were dead: Char, Shiro Amada(maybe, edited versions leave out episode 12 where they show he is alive, and may cut out the end of 11 when its not very noticable that they are leaving), Heero, Trowa, Lady Une, Milliardo Peacecraft (kind of), Kira, Athrun, Mu La Flaga, Andrew Waltfeld, Chapman (G Gundam)
There are probably many more too, and as I said, these are just some of the ones that show people dying, and then they don’t show them not have really died a couple of minutes later. This is not to mention all of the people that should have died in various situations, but managed a miraculous escape and not to mention all of the “souls” that plague the UC and CE universes.

  48. Gystara says:

i just read a couple posts, and i found _this particular post_ (i wont say which) absolutely hilarious. Actually, the fact that people are still commenting on this ancient post is funny too.

Anti-matter is being explored in weapon research, tis true,
and the fact that a great amount of energy is released is true too,
but, angels and demons is NOT a good source of scientific info. =p

and i liked this one too
“There’s no such thing as “the technology in Gundam SEED is fictional and all crap”. Yes, all this can be possible. Who knows, in the near future, they’ll be such things as mobile suits and DRAGOON systems, and more!”

have you taken a college levelled physics class? the science SEED describes is utter BS. mobile suits? DRAGOON SYSTEM? I’m sorry to spoil your dream man, but no. Wont happen.

Science aside, i wasnt that much bothered by it while watching SEED.
Simply put, I didnt like it because i felt like i wasted my time watching it, and thats why it sucked.
