This is hands down the most boring episode so far. Maybe next episode will be more exciting when Marina and Setsuna die in a fiery plane crash. I’m so hungry and sleepy.

Celestial Being pays a visit to Kataron’s top secret base for no good reason. They could’ve handed Marina over to Shirin in episode 4 when they met on an island for no good reason, but for some reason they really wanted to visit Kataron only to leave without doing anything in particular other than exchange hellos.
He forgot to tiptoe
Oh right. I guess they also wanted to dump Saji on Kataron. I totally forgot about that guy. Saji decides that he doesn’t want to stick around a bunch of underground al-Qaeda losers and escapes from the top secret base by telling the lone guard he has to go pee. Houdini-level brilliance.

Of course he gets captured by the Feds and it’s not long before A-LOLS shows up at Kataron’s well-concealed super top secret base. If only they had locked their front door…
I wonder what he ate for dinner
A-LOLS sends in the heavy firepower in the form of killer robot poop. A ton of people die and some things get blown up. I don’t really care. Soma is all emo because people die. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s that time of the month. She’s totally infatuated with Sergei.

Saji is all emo because he has turned into the very thing he despises (how surprisingly ironic), so he’s well on his way to wearing a mask and becoming the dark sith lord.
Thoughts
I have only one thing I want to talk about. Why is everyone over-reacting to the fact that A-LOLS uses automatons to kill people? Allelujah says it’s because the people who use automatons do not feel the weight of the trigger being pulled and thus do not have to live with the sin of killing with their own hands, but that’s just wtf.
Someone had to push the button to deploy the killbots, right? Isn’t that pretty much the same as pulling the trigger to fire guided missiles?
I’m pretty sure they used the same 3D isometric tool Utawarerumono uses
And would it really have been better if A-LOLS had blown the whole base up with artillery fire or missiles instead of sending lame Tachikoma rip-offs?
Well I’m going to keep this entry short because my exams just started today so I should really do something about that.

You are right that this episode was boring. It seems like the only selling point of this episode was a psychotic maniac saying: “Sou yo… SONO MASAKA YO!!!” with a rapist’s smile on his freaking face =_=
Saji hasnt’ grown up at all after 5 episodes, Setsuna’s mysterious rise into the position of the charismatic leader is still awkward, Lyle turned his back to Soma while fighting the automatons =_=…

Turns out the writers were too busy building Lyle’s unique character from scratch to come up with names for the other new characters that wouldn’t actually sound retarded…
First they coin Mr. Bullshitto, then comes the gradual unveiling of Ribbons’ space odyssey freakshow a.k.a Innovators:
Ribbons (duh), some Tieria cop-out, Revive Revival (no joke, that’s what it sounds like),…*extrapolating*… Rainbows, Butterflies, Fairies *wink*, Douchebags …

Sorry to say, but I have to admit that your photo comments are never funny….and the reviews have became shallow…it sounds like a chore writing your reviews instead of one that really analyze the depth of the episode.
I think this episode is used to build up the characters and increase the tension of the ruthlessness of the A-laws. Is only Ep5 of the second season…you can’t every episode to be cracking with lots of action.

Isn’t Geass from an Irish legend Geas?Though I do think that the writers is aware of the Geass meanings as shown in some parts of the series and the pronousation is 99% the same.
I agree that it was a boring episodes but I love the character development in the episode.Was hoping for more 00 Gundam pwnage and infomation on possible weaknesses and traits.
I hope more action in the next episode.Though not much I can see Setsuna doing with that small ship…….

@ Joe the Bummer/Lazarus: Darkmirage was never funny period, except apparently to the Darkmirage fanclub side of the commenters. Although even I get the sense that they are just going through the motions now and pretending to find gut-busting humour where there is only the potential for mild chuckles at best. DM’s screencaps to me are more snap impressions than actual pre-planned attempts at humour (or at least I hope that’s supposed to be the case), as in what is the first thing a person might think of when they see this screenshot sans context. Of course the keen observer will not that in DM’s case it’s almost invariably something sexual. Don’t ask why that’s the case, maybe some pent up sexual frustration coming out through a blogging mechanism? Don’t know.
And I think people should just be content with the fact that Darkmirage is never going to give an impression of liking a Gundam 00 episode no matter what happens because that’s not the goal here. The goal is lulz, which is your standard Gundam 00 blogging formula right folks, only in this case more to the point. This isn’t some word of god, just a guy trying to find something witty to say about a show, his exams and his apparent eternal insomnia with varying degrees of failure through the guise of a weekly Gundam 00 write up.
talking about reviews…. I think DM did pretty well in his early reviews of G00 in season 1. My guess is that he is writing for the sake of continuation rather than having actual passion for the show. YOu can tell by the lack of content compare with his earlier posts. Maybe he should stop the posts on G00.

Apparently the content length was proportional to the number of pwnage, gags, lolis, assholes, time-wasters, gays, lesbians and a stupid (albeit Sunrise’s style), time-wasting ultra hogger that takes up to 40.1 MB in RAW (1280*768)

So boring I skipped trough most of it. If they keep this shit up then oh my god this is going to be worse than trainwreck Geass.
Why Soma is so angered isn´t hard to understand, if she wants to kill someone it has be an opponent, she wouldn´t kill children or civilians. But those robots don´t have anything, from what I can see they don´t care about friend or foe, they just shoot at anything that moves and leaves a lot of bodies behind them. Which isn´t really something good and isn´t something that should be done either.
Unless you´re out to try and control nations by fear. Which is basically what A-LOLS are doing at this point and I´m really irritated by it.

Yeah DM is a dirty old man. Obviously they were talking adoption back then. It was obvious because Sergei is NOT a dirty old man.
Also i dont get all the negativity over this episode. Lack of explosions and pretty beam weapons does not equal lack of meaningful content. A giant robot is only as meaningful as its backstory.
As for why they are so freaked out over the automatons, i think some level of personal experience with violence is needed to fully understand it. And i think using them may constitute a war crime.

Technically the use of the tachikomas would be atrocious since they are autonomous weapons that kill indiscriminately, offering no chance of surrender. Not giving unarmed civilians, nevermind armed soldiers, a chance to surrender would be considered a war-crime.
