II is in the works. While being terribly vague (a huge understatement on my part) on the details, it seems to me that a 26-episode series is implied. Or maybe it’s just my imagination.

For the uninitiated, Da Capo II is the sequel to the popular bishoujo game Da Capo. Both the Da Capo and Da Capo Second Season anime series are actually based on the first game, leading to much confusion amongst casual fans and the non-hardcore. This time the main character is Yoshiyuki Sakurai who has not one but two sisters unrelated by blood, Otome Asakura and Yume Asakura, the granddaughters of Nemu (heroine of the first game). Oh right, the story also happens to take place 50 years after the first game. Read my past entry for more details.

As everyone should know by now, my favourite D.C. II girl is Nanaka Shirakawa. So here’s a picture of a pillow cover featuring her!

Nanaka

Haha, good stuff. Still with me? Anyway, on a related note, Kadokawa and CIRCUS are working on a PS2 version of Da Capo II called “Da Capo II Plus Situation” (D.C.II P.S). Oh my god I didn’t see that one coming. At all. New story paths will be added and a Comptiq will be polling its readers to determine who gets to be one of the new heroines. It’s got to be either Akane or Iinchou…

Also I forgot to mention this, but I actually own a PS2 now! So yay for me! I’ll get my PS3 as soon as PS4 is released. :)

Haruhi-sama

My life is now complete.

It’s a pre-painted recast from e2046 of the most awesome figure of Haruhi-sama ever produced by mortal hands. I was pretty sceptical about this when it was first announced, since pre-painted resin figures tend to suck a lot. I didn’t order it.

Haruhi-sama
The packaging

But apparently e2046’s new “Gathering” series of pre-painted figure are goddamn awesome. After reading a few reviews, I was totally regretting my decision. ORZ

Haruhi-sama
The content

That’s when e2046 announced a second shipment of pre-painted Haruhi. I preordered it without any hesitations. Those meals I skipped were put to good use.

Haruhi-sama
The pieces

The packaging is pretty darn secured. It has enough padding to survive a plane crash (although that would have really delayed the shipping). The pieces are all very nicely done, especially the guitar.

You could almost strum it

Yay.

AWESOME!!!

I’ll never figure out how to put this together

Japan: Day Eight – Bandai Museum http://2pwn.tk/websites/www.darkmirage.com/2006/06/17/japan-day-eight-bandai-museum/ http://2pwn.tk/websites/www.darkmirage.com/2006/06/17/japan-day-eight-bandai-museum/#comments Fri, 16 Jun 2006 16:37:32 +0000 http://2pwn.tk/websites/www.darkmirage.com/2006/06/17/japan-day-eight-bandai-museum/ Continue reading ]]> Bandai Museum

Located just outside the east exit of Matsudo Station in Chiba Prefecture on the JR Joban Line is Bandai Museum, a place where all true Gundam fans must go once in their lifetime… and not more than once.

Well, it looks like a big building, but Bandai actually only takes up 4 floors and most of them are merchandizes so the actual Gundam Museum is quite small. Entry to most places is free except for the Gundam Museum which requires a 500-yen day ticket.

Bandai Museum

Kerokerokero. Kerororororo.

Bandai Museum

A model of a colony from Universal Century. All the displays in the Gundam Museum are printed in both English and Japanese. If you look at the three mirror structures from the front of the colony, you can actually see the landscape inside.

Bandai Museum

Creepy mono-eye. This is a 1/1 scale model of the head of a Zaku. The eye switches on regularly and look around, presumably for Federation spies. It even produces the distinctive switching-on sound.

Bandai Museum

Apparently a Zaku weights about 9 elephants and runs much slower than a cheetah.

Bandai Museum

You can pay 500 yen to rent a costume and pose in front of…

Bandai Museum

A 1/1 replica of the Gundam. You can also pay 500 yen to fire a miniature (airsoft) replica of the machine gun of a Zaku. Or you can pay 500 yen to enter the Gundam’s cockpit and then pay another 1000 yen to get a commemorative picture taken…

Bandai Museum

And if that’s not enough money wasted spent, you can find all forms of overpriced food at the G-style Cafe. G for Gundam that is. There are deserts with names like “Akatsuki no Kuruma” (New York Style Cheese Cake), “Kira no Namida”(Oreo Cheese Cake) and “Lacus no Kyuujitsu” (Chocolate Cheese Cake). There are also Haro cocktails available in four different colours. (Actually Calpis drinks mixed with fruit flavouring) A cheese cake costs about 500 yen and a Haro cocktail is 600 yen. Don’t even ask for the main menu.

Oh yeah, pictured above is “Lacus no Kyuujitsu”. I am a fanboy. :3

Bandai Museum

And here we have the toilet.

And here are the rest of the photos.

Summer Days event ticket

We arrived at Akihabara Station at about 9.30am. The tickets for the event were given out at 10am, but there was already a queue of around 50 people by the time we got there. Of course the event room sits 120 people so we were fine. The event itself was quite short. The guy in-charge of scenario for Summer Days gave an introduction to the setting of the game and the various characters.

More details after the jump:

Jumped.

Some facts I still remember from his talk:

  1. Katsura’s sister, Kokoro, has an ending in the game. Her character design has been made older-looking.
  2. The Nijou twins have a combined scene with Makoto, apparently mandatory in ero-games or so the guy said.
  3. There aren’t any endings with Setsuna and Sekai’s mothers, apparently because they want to make it a “jun’ai” game.
  4. Despite the fact that it’s supposedly a “jun’ai” game, there are ero-scenes with the said mothers for certain paths… (or at least Sekai’s mother)
  5. Setsuna is quite violent in the game, in a cute way. :P
  6. Yes, the game is really coming out on the 23rd of this month.
  7. The limited edition of the game comes with a disc containing a non-stop 4-hour commentary of actual School Days gameplay, presumably this includes the ero-scenes.
  8. The commentary by the seiyuu of Sekai, Kotonoha and Setsuna was recorded in one session. Apparenly an entire table of snacks was consumed in the process.

Summer Days seat numbers

Seating was done by lot-drawing. We got quite good seats in the second row. Sadly, I didn’t get picked for the question and answer round, thus I didn’t manage to get any of the goods they were giving out. (including a Setsuna wall scroll and a meganekko Kotonoha phone card), but at least I got this promo poster that was given out to everyone…

Setsuna'

Setsuna is wearing the waitress uniform of the cafe ran by Sekai’s mother (I’m guessing it’s her taste…). They had a girl cosplaying in the waitress uniform above during today’s event.

On another note, the guy sitting beside me (I was no. 18, he was no. 17) was a Kotonoha fan. I wanted to beat him up for that but I stopped myself because half of the room would come after me with kitchen knifes. Damn Kotonoha fanboys. *mumbles* And yeah, he did get the phone card.

After watching the demo, I sort of feel like getting the game… Well, we’ll see if I have enough money left at the end of this trip.

Title Screen

A short introduction: The main character is Yoshiyuki Sakurai. He lives with his two foster sisters, Yume Asakura (younger) and Otome Asakura (elder). Somehow, he possesses the exact same powers as Jun’ichi did, which are snack-conjuring and seeing the dreams of other people. Koko Tsukishima is the shy introverted childhood friend, Minatsu Amakase is the banana-hating tsuntsun girl (i.e. complete opposite of her namesake), Akane Hanasaki is the over-developed classmate, Anzu Yukimura is the creepy under-developed classmate (think Ichigo from Onegai series except less cool) and…

Nanaka~

Nanaka Shirakawa is the campus idol + hands down the best character in the game. Good genes from Kotori. *wub*

More stuff and screenshots after the jump.

Jumped.

So anyway, nothing much has changed since the first game. The art feels somewhat different due to the lack of Naru Nanao (original character designer for D.C.) but it’s still of good quality. Especially Nanaka. Moving on…

Main Menu

The game system is still the same old stuff. Well, there is a slight change in that the creators seem to be using character portrait size and angle to indicate the positions of the onscreen characters in relation to one another. It’s not perfect considering all the stuff are in 2D, but it achieves its effects.

Yume and Otome
Yoshiyuki, don’t go to the dark side!

Anyway, Yume sounds somewhat like Nemu. Otome sounds quite different from what I imagined (which was closer to Moe’s voice from the original D.C.). Yume calls you “nii-san” and Otome calls you “otouto-kun”. *shudders*

Choice selection

To get to Nanaka’s events, all you have to do is to select the option with 「渉のクラス」 in it for two times. :P There’s nothing much to talk about for the short demo, so I shall leave you with some Nanaka pics. ^_^

Title Screen
“un. nigeru~”

Nanaka-chan~
“konnichiwa kuma-san~”

Nanaka forever~~
Here you can see how her portrait is placed closer to the screen.

More Nanaka~~~
*faints*

Even more Nanaka~~~~

Summer Days

Summer Days is the sequel to School Days. The heroine of the story is Setsuna this time. Woot. The cast and setting are still the same, but the story takes place in a different timeline, one where Makoto meets Setsuna first. The promo video was released a few days ago. The game had been delayed many times and the current release date is 23rd June. The official website is here.

Now I can fail tomorrow’s math test with no regrets.

I could remember part of the lyrics “sayounara wo utatte, amai koe de / tsukiakari no yoru, hoho wo yosete” and I knew that it was a Yuki Kajiura song, but it took me a while before I realized that it was canta per me from Noir!

I asked the guy at the piano and he confirmed that it was indeed Yuki. ZOMG! If I wasn’t rushing home I’d have stayed for the whole song. Heh. Now it would really make my day(s) if someone played some Maaya songs too. XD

Anyway, I only realized yesterday that my birthday is on Thursday. Another year closer to 18-kin material. (Oh, who am I kidding?)
