Cartoon Network tried to sell it to kids and failed hard. That movie probably got like 1 out of 10 stars. I forget the name of the movie because it is totally not memorable. But, roger rabbit was great in its day; however, it doesn't work as well anymore just because how much the graphics have changed. The roger rabbit idea won’t work. Ideally they should be distributed openly in Shinjuku, nihonbashi, and places with lots of ippanjin. The idea about circumventing the law is very interesting though.. imagine a harem anime where all the girls are 2D but the guy is an actor, with the anime girls overlay-ed over the filming... hmm... If your book can't be sold in Tokyo outside of the 18+ corners, then it may be commercially not viable to fund its creation in the first place. Yes but Tokyo is a huge market. As long as companies such as Shueisha move away, the industry itself shouldn't change much. Personally, I think that some Korean works are very good and would like to see them gain popularity.
