Curse, Odex! Yes, I have been living under a rock as I didn’t know any of these going-ons recently or further in the past, but…

So my university must be phenomenally slow, but guess what I got in my school e-mail’s inbox today? Two Copyright Infringement Violation Notices from our “Information Technology Issues Management,” alerted courtesy of BayTSP (at the beginning of November, no less, wonder what took them so long to tell me?). Still, it’s nice to have the delay so I can know that BayTSP and Odex were being idiots, and I don’t have to worry about that part (sending in a statement of compliance and whatnot). But the heart of the matter is, my school probably won’t care that they were alerted by mistake or not, as far as filesharing using their network goes. So, what to do? Is torrenting and IRC gone for the rest of my four years (I’m only a freshman, dang it!) since they already have two things filed about me and probably won’t be happy if some freak chance alerts them again?

*sigh* And I was just starting to enjoy this internet speed which has got to be more than 10x faster than mine at home…
