Shinji Ikari, the Third Child, awoke slowly.  This day was not starting
out too well.  For starters, he had a massive headache.  And his
eyelids felt heavy and were impossible to open.

Slowly, Shinji's memories drifted back to the night before.  Misato had
held a surprise birthday party for Rei.  Everyone had drank.  Shinji
had gotten VERY drunk.

And then, after most everyone had gone home, Rei had appeared in front
of him.  She said nothing, but simply started kissing him.  Shinji
smiled slightly as he remembered the two of them stumbling into his
bedroom, pulling at each other's clothes.

A night of wild, drunken sex had followed.  It was not how Shinji had
expected to lose his virginity.

Finally, the Third Child forced his eyes to open, expecting to see Rei
sleeping peacefully beside him.  Instead, he saw Rei standing and
picking up her clothes.

Shinji smiled.  "Hey," he said affectionately.  Rei turned around at
the sound of his voice.  A look of mild annoyance seemed to cross her
face.

"Oh, you're awake.  Hello."  Rei said all this in her usual monotone,
no trace of emotion anywhere.

Shinji became flustered, he really didn't know what to say.

"Um..about last night....uh...."

Rei continued to stare at him, while putting her bra and panties back
on.

"Was last night your first time, Ikari-san?"

`Ikari-san?!!?'  Not `Ikari-chan' or `Ikari-sama.'

"Uh, yeah, it was."  Shinji blushed.  "That was your first time, too,
wasn't it?"

"No."  Rei reached for her blouse.

"Oh...."  Shinji twiddled his thumbs, trying to think of something to
say.  "Where are you going, don't you want to come back to bed?"

"Sorry, I've got an early appointment with Ritsuko."

"But aren't you too hung over to go anywhere?'

Rei finished putting her skirt back on and reached for her jacket.  "I
didn't drink anything last night."

Shinji stared at her in disbelief.  "What...??"

Rei zipped up her jacket and then walked over to Shinji's bed and
patted him on the head.  Then, she gave him `the speech.'  And from the
way she said it, it sounded like she said it quite often, to the point
where it had lost it's meaning a long time ago.

"Thanks, I had a lot of fun last night.  You're a really great guy,
Shinji.  I'll call you."

With that, Rei Ayanami left.

It took the Third Child a few seconds to realize what had just happened.

"YOU BITCH!  YOU USED ME!  MY FIRST TIME AND YOU USED ME!  YOU
FUCKING SLUT!

Asuka groaned slightly as Shinji's tirade continued.  In her hungover
state, Shinji's girly-voice screams were like a piercing sonic boom
inside her skull.

Her bedmate got up and opened the door slightly, to see what all the
commotion was.

Asuka sat up and said, "Come back to bed, Pen-Pen-chan.  It's just
Shinji having a panic attack or something."

She patted the bed and gave her most seductive smile.

"BWAAK," the penguin responded.

Author's Comments:  Every time we get a Shinji-Rei pairing in a fic,
it's some sort of deep emotional bond.  So, in my ongoing quest to push
the boundaries of fanfics, I present to you the "cheap one night stand"
Shinji-Rei pairing.  Oh yes, the first (I think) Asuka-Pen Pen
